Is Your Toothpaste Safe?
Toothpaste is the number one oral health care product that people commonly use to clean their teeth and gums. But do you really know whats in your toothpaste or what are the ingredients that it contains? Are they safe? Most commercial toothpaste promises to deliver brighter, whiter and cleaner teeth and prevents it from cavities and tooth decay. But the thing here is, if they are really effective why people still experience gum disease and need to undergo treatments such as receding gum treatments, bleeding gum treatments and periodontal disease treatment?
Most of commercial toothpaste contains harmful chemicals and are not that effective as they claim to be. Toothpastes often be the reason why some dental problems occur and a need for receding gums treatment, bleeding gums and periodontal disease treatment is necessary. Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) is one of the most common ingredient in toothpastes and unfortunately it is also one of the chemicals that is found in car anti- freeze products and heavy duty cleaners., thus it is enough to cause irritation on gums and teeth. SLS is responsible for the foaming effect of the toothpaste, its rather a cosmetic add on than a functional.
